SMM January 17 News:
As the Chinese New Year approaches, various industries are gradually entering the holiday mode. To provide a clearer understanding of the actual situation, SMM conducted a detailed survey of over 100 downstream copper enterprises, and the results are summarized as follows:

From the chart above, we can see that in 2025, only the copper foil industry has a significantly shorter holiday duration compared to last year. The holiday durations for the copper pipe & tube and enamelled wire industries remain the same as last year, while other sectors generally have an increase of 1 to 2 days compared to last year. The secondary copper rod industry, affected by policy issues, has the longest holiday duration.

However, looking at the average operating rate from January to February 2025, it is expected that only the operating rate of the secondary copper rod industry will decline, while other industries will see varying degrees of increase. Notably, the operating rates of the copper pipe & tube, copper foil, and copper billet industries are expected to achieve double-digit growth. The specific conditions of each industry are detailed below:
